Be first for yourself so you can give your best to others
This Advent season, you may feel like you have to take care of everything and everyone - family, friends, colleagues, presents, preparations...
But what about you? How can you look after yourself so that the festive season is not just about others, but about you?
Do you know why it's important to be YOU in the first place? Because that's how you can truly give your best to others.
✨ The truth is that if you yourself are not well, you cannot give fully to others. Think of it like a bank balance: if you keep withdrawing and never replenishing, sooner or later the balance will run out.
If you don't take care of yourself, don't relax, don't recharge, how can you give anything to others?
How can you give love, patience, time and attention if you don't have any, if you are not emotionally and physically charged?
💖 With so many tasks and expectations around us during Advent, now might be a good time to take a moment to mindfully look after yourself. Don't just wrap the presents, treat your own soul a little too. How?
🧘♀️ Take a break! Yes, you can allow yourself to stop and just breathe sometimes! Your life is not a race, and if you stop, you won't get left behind. Rest is not laziness, but an expression of respect for yourself.
💡 Don't let the festive rush overwhelm your inner needs! If you need some alone time, give it to yourself. If you feel like a little exercise might help relieve some tension, give in to the call of a refreshing walk in nature or try a calming Chikung practice!
🌱 To give the most to others, you must first give the most to yourself. The love you want to give to others, you must first find within yourself. Only then can you truly be present and love others as yourself.
🔑 Remember: if you put yourself first, you can give the best to others, because you give the best quality of your energy and attention. And if you are empty, what is left? Only emptiness.
