🌟 Agar-agar por - natural gelling miracle!
For example, the agar-agar por an algae-based natural gelling agent that is a great alternative to traditional gelatine.
🌱 Not only is it ideal for vegetarians and vegans, but it also adds a fantastic texture to desserts, creams and puddings! 🍮
Here is a simple yet special Christmas recipe:
💫 Christmas spice cream with agar-agar powder
🛒 Ingredients:
- 🥛 1/2 litre vegetable milk (the fattier the better, e.g. soya or almond milk)
- 🍃 1,5 hump teaspoon agar-agar powder
- 🍊 1/2 orange zest grated
- 🧂 Pinch of salt
- 🥄 1-2 tablespoons almond paste or a little vegetable cream
- 🌸 Spices: vanilla, a little cinnamon
- 🍯 2-3 tablespoons rice syrup
🥣 Preparation:
1️⃣ Mix the agar-agar powder with the vegetable milk, then add the orange zest, salt, almond paste and spices.
2️⃣ Heat a saucepan and bring to the boil to dissolve the agar-agar completely.
3️⃣ Then add the rice syrup (after heating, because the heat reduces the sweetness).
4️⃣ Pour the mixture into a flat glass container (the larger the surface area that can cool) and leave to cool completely. 🧊 Agar-agar, unlike starches, starts to gelatinize when it cools, not when it heats!
5️⃣ When the cream has cooled completely, blend with a hand blender to a light, creamy consistency.
🎁 Tips for use:
🔸 For dipping biscuits 🥠
🔸 With Bejgli 🍰
🔸 Or simply spoon it out on its own - you're guaranteed to be enchanted by the spicy, festive flavours! ✨
